I'm trying to come up with a really clever and not-totally-predictable comment regarding the band's name, but I'm just drawing blanks.

How about...

"Are they opening for The Alan Parsons Project for the New American Century?"

I've got a million of 'em, folks!

The Surge's show will be forgettable, except the press will give them a 5-star review because the other bands will decide not to play.

Oh, good direction. "No--the headiner's going to be The Kristol Method."

You think they could get Feith No More back together for this gig ?

I always preferred Richard Perle Jam. Or, if we're looking for bands with pre-grunge roots, how about The Jesus and Mary Cheney?

tonight at THE Velvet Lounge in Chicago, Lester Lashley, last heard on some late 60's AACM albums put out on Delmark, arises from the ashes and performs with the Urban Bushmen. Totally out of context, just thought i'd save ya'll from this orgy of DC narcissism.

The surge is working, my friends.

Great to see 'The Atlantic' is now a MySpace page for fifteen-year-olds.

Well, like I keep saying, Matt's just four years out of college.

And since he's talking bands again, how about this parody:

Stay the Corrs.

Sorry.

Just what his ego needs, a rock band. Perhaps he could go to law school as well?
