Meet the New Blog

14 Apr 2008 09:30 am

Check it out: Attackerman, a joint venture of Spencer Ackerman and the Center for American Progress. I, for one, welcome the ThinkProgress crew's move into franchising. I only hope that their long-range plan for world domination involves coopting/assimilating me rather than destroying me.

The Center for American Progress? Oh Christ.

I keep getting Spencer Ackerman mixed up with Forrest J. Ackerman.

(As someone who commented snarkily on Spencer's Kurdistan/food video)...

I'd like to highly recommend one of his last posts at his old site.

Truly interesting, informative, well-written, devastating, etc...

Nice work.

I want to see a blog that is ruthless to all pols. No one is spared. Clinton plays dirty; she is a toast. Obama plays elitism, he is toast. McCain votes different, he is a toast. No one can identify whether the blog is democratic, GOP, independent, etc.

I want to see that blog.

When I come to the Atlantic, I see the following:

Andrew Sullivan: Protect Obama (so my essay on him becomes a history piece). If Clintons attacks Obama, quickly cite people who disagree. Muddy it up. No one must tough Obama. Must protect my Atlantic article. Must link it many times. Must cite it many times.

Marc: Take pleasure on mentioning campaign quotes. Must never say negative about democratic. Must roast GOP. If GOP says anything about Obama, must ignore it and instead focus on GOP.

Matt: Must hide from people my affluent life; must constantly cite fellow bloggers who think alike to protect my biases; must ignore conflict-of-interest as I am not a GOP; must use all possible avenues to bury McCain with out of context.

"I want to see a blog that is ruthless to all pols."

Equal time, regardless of facts?

Brendan Nyhan HAS A POSSE

I bash all, sans peur, and I cover the topic where young MattY has shown time and again that he's just following the Party line.

As for CAP, they're a running joke as far as I'm concerned.

As for Ackerman, I didn't know that he was the WashingtonIndependent's "national security correspondent", making this mistake all the more odd:

washingtonindependent.com/view/tancredo-isnt-our

Spencer Ackerman?

Wasn't he the guy who went postal over at TNR and threatened to kill his boss?

Not exactly! Frankie was never in any danger.

Would THIS be the reason Matt is recommending this blog?

"First, Feith is hoping you don’t know that Scott Carpenter is himself a Chalabi-boosting neocon implanted at the State Department under Liz Cheney after the CPA went out of business. Citing him as a disinterested expert on Chalabi’s value as an imperial proxy is like citing me as a disinterested expert on Matt Yglesias’s awesome book that you should order from Amazon. I’m sure that Carpenter sincerely thinks Chalabi is nifty, much as I think Heads In The Sand is an awesome book that you should order from Amazon. But the full context is rather necessary here."

What's the term for "blog whores"? Blog whores?
