If you happen to be in Morgantown, West Virginia tonight (and why wouldn't you be?), you should come check out the star-studded panel discussion I'll be appearing on tonight -- Matt Yglesias! Ross Douthat! Terry Samuel! Abbi Taton! Ana Marie Cox! Philip de Velis! Mike Tomasky! It'll be a not-to-be-missed discussion of new media and the election.

You're in John Cole's home state and he's not invited? Tsk tsk!
Matt, who's footing the bill for your sweet junket to Morgantown?
BTW, Abbi Taton looks cute. Find out if she's married.
Wow, Ana Marie Cox and Abbi Tatton! Their hotness is wasted on you and Ross. If your lucky after the panel at some Morgantown bar AMC might revert to her pre-Time self and talk about anal sex. BTW, quite the serious profile photo of you. Makes you look like you're 5-10 years older and work at a think tank, or maybe have an assistant professorship at some middle rung college.
Abbi Tatton needs to get it! I remember her first day on air she was terrified and just terrible stuttering and talking about blogs...it was a train wreck but she is hot with that accent and now that she has gathered her confidence she is even hotter...
Hit on her Matt!!!
Wasn't tonight the night we were going to trick all the gullible people into Morgantown before blowing the dam?
Oh yeah, there's gonna be free punch and pie... and IPods...
New media in action: I thought the new Clinton mashup was hilarious. You know, the one that makes fun of the famous 3:00 a.m. spot.
Ana Marie Cox!
I thought Thursday was her night for licking McCain's backside. No, wait, that's every night.
I'm guessing AMC is there to discuss anal sex and new media ... since, you know, that seems to be the topic on which she has the most experience.
/snark
I'll be honest and risk getting blasted by others: I like AMC's blogging -- I think she can be quite funny. While, IMHO, she gets blasted a bit too much over at Swampland (some of the heat is justified) she seems to actually take the criticism well and at least makes an attempt to adjust where necessary. A work in progress on the political blogging thing, as it were.
On a more general note, I'm the kind of guy who would find this panel quite interesting and would love to hear and take part in the discussion.
Unfortunately, I decided to reside in a modern society and where there is some level ground, so I'm nowhere near Morgantown.
:-)
Tell Phil I said hi!
MarkD, the level ground comment is fair. The modern society comment only shows that you are a product of what everyone here says Anna seems to love. I assume your "modern society" is some nice city somewhere where you stand as good of a chance of getting murdered as you do of getting to work.....if you actually work.

john cole was impressed over at Balloon-Juice
Matt can't even spell her name right, so he's got no chance compared to this guy:

As for Ana Marie Cox, check this out:

Picture caption:
"This is a suddenly slightly-hard to find pic of Wonkette Anne Marie Cox and her super high quality boobs.
The useless twit on the right is the so-five minutes ago Washingtonienne."
However, can Matt beat out Jimmy Wales as shown here?

I don't think so.
Besides, according to Wikipedia:
"She is married to Chris Lehmann, formerly of The Washington Post and New York and now an editor at Congressional Quarterly, and lives in Washington, D.C.."
Try hitting on Ross, Matt - he looks about as desperate.

joke: n. something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement, as a witticism, a short and amusing anecdote, or a prankish act.
Sheeesh ... aren't we just a wee bit sensitive?
I live in the Kansas City area, for chrissakes. Not exactly the cultural and intellectual hotbed of the country.
If you can't accept jokes about where you live, then ... well, I don't know what. Maybe some decaf? A little aromatherapy? Perhaps a hug?

When you say "New Media," do you mean blogs and the Interent?
