Obama 3-3

28 Apr 2008 04:26 pm

Barack Obama plays three-on-three:

His opponents seem to be putting up a defensive effort that's reminiscent of recent New York Knicks squads. The fact that they're all Obama campaign volunteers may play a role in this.

Reminiscent?

You sure those aren't the Knicks?

Any chance we could get a play-by-play guy who knows the name of more than one guy out there? Too much to ask?

Gotta love BO draining that outside J for the win. What this nation really needs is a President who can shoot the 3-ball.

Obama's left handed? This is great news for ...

(Of course, I also laughed at all the "by this time my lungs were aching for air" jokes on MST3K.)

That this video was created shows how preposterous our political culture is, but the shot fake and dish to the cutter in the lane was sweet.

So a black guy can play basketball. Who knew?

He does look pretty quick for an old guy, though. I'll give him that.

Beats duck hunting.

I just have to second what southpaw said:

Lays it off to the man... and boom goes the dynamite.

I don't even see Obama when I watch this clip.

I see old, old man named John McCain.

Decent passer
Limited to the lefthand
One go to move
His team had all the size
Plays ball in sweats WTF

Would like to see what he can
do on the blocks with Clinton's
forearm planted in his back.

If he wins this Presidency thing, he should be required to suit up for the Wizards!
That's one baller Jay-Z wouldn't diss.

The fact that they're all Obama campaign volunteers may play a role in this.

Another hole-in-one, boss!

Plus
Good passer
Follows his shot
Minus

It would definitely be strange to see a volunteer knock him down saying "no blood, no foul, bitch!"

Limited ball-handling skills up against soft, stationary D, but for a guy pushing 50 - a decent player.

Did he have pancakes with Prince afterwards?

you sure they're all obama volunteers? or just the ones on his team? you would think that obama volunteers would get a different team name than "away".

He can't go to his right!

Also, he's become a little more of a gunner since the Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers melodramas. On HBO he was all dishing.

He's got a really nice game though. Probably the Senate's best since Bradley.

The Washington Generals?

I'm deeply concerned to see Obama playing a game that such notrious thugs such as Ron Artest, Allan Iverson, and Stephen Jackson also play. And he's been playing this game for more than 20 years. I demand that he denounce these anti-american hateful racists and apologise for his long association with this racist sport.

cw,

Post on MyDD and nobody will think you're joking...

cw makes an astute point. I wonder which network will be first to report on this important angle of Senator Obama's "basketball issue." According to the Senator he's been playing at least since his father gave him a basketball at 10, so there's 36 years of basketball players he's knowingly associated himself with.

Only Hillary Clinton has been tested and vetted by Kevin Garnett's dominating defensive post presence.

That's brilliant Yossarian, just brilliant.

Petey's going to show up soon and say that defensive rebounds are the only statistic that matter.

"His opponents seem to be putting up a defensive effort that's reminiscent of recent New York Knicks squads."

Well, they're from the same high school that brought you me and Zach Randolph. And my D is no better.

I swear for a second I saw these three stoners in Abercrombie t-shirts from the Evansville rally there in the crowd watching the game. Maybe just a bad dream.

This doesn't apply really to this post but I have to say this somewhere: If I hear one more rich white pundit complaining about black racism, divsiveness, and hate speech I'm going to.... I'm going to.... I'm going to start a goddamnd blog and spend my every waking minute ploting how to make the lives of NRO, Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh a living hell. Eitherr that or I'm going to have to become some kind of zen buddist or something.

He needs to untuck his shirt.

Wow. I think obama lost the nomination for good today. sad, really.

Damn. I was looking for a basketball post, and this is the closest I've got.

Matt - it's a good night for you. The Hawks just beat the Celtics to tie it. What's more, they made the Cs look old and slow - the Hawks just had so much more energy and athleticism. Toward the end, Joe Johnson made like LeBron with a little less brawn - basically scored at will, time after time.

Even as a pretty die-hard Boston fan, I have to give the Hawks props. Now please go back to playing lousy so we can win the series. Please?

My Hawks are going to make this go seven games.

Too bad we will never win a game on the road.

Hey Bill C: too late to cash your Colombian paycheck(s) and find a hooker or what? Maybe after 2012 you can back a candidate more into lacrosse or hockey or whatever. Until then, you've always got Rush Limbaugh. Keep it up, kid.
