One Trick Pony

Nice ad:

The Miami area, it should be pointed out, had one of the worst housing bubbles and is now suffering from serious foreclosure-mania so I imagine there's some real possibilities for political upheaval.

How messed up is it that the "high gas prices" illustration ($3.35 regular) would actually be considered pretty cheap around here? NY suburbs was $3.70 this weekend.

Republicans in Florida just need to convince their base it's the Commie Cubans that are responsible for foreclosures, high gas prices and our troubled health care system. Shouldn't be too tough when you're dealing with a crowd like that. Hell, they believe the earth is 6000 years old, there's some mystical plane of existence after death and George Bush really, REALLY tries hard to find Osama Bin Laden.

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons."

Doesn't Joe Garcia's logo look pretty close to Obama's? Flipped over of course, but the red lines (obviously based on the flag, but still) and the field of white stars replaced the circular white field. It's not too different.

Also, gotta love paul simon - no one else can write lyrics like "it's the principle source of his revenue" and make it sound good.

We need to do this to McCain. You could use One Trick Pony with all his war quotes, or you could use another song. People who can remember lyrics should post now.

I'm Cuban born and live in South Florida. The ad is just awesome and fearless. It says brilliantly what a lot of people think but politicians didn't dare to say because the wounds we carry from Communism are real. It is great to see someone is making the move. Times are finally changing in Miami

Steve, nobody tells anybody that Castro is responsible for anything that goes wrong here. We are not as stupid as you think we are. Their trick is to loudly wear their anticommunism on their sleeves, fight in Congress against anything that can be constructed as making Fidel's life easier and play the ethnic card. So far it has worked for them so far; it is great if it starts not to work anymore. As for the creationist stuff, you are mixing up your Republicans: none of my many Cuban Republican friends go to church and many of them are simply agnostic or atheist.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D) refuses to help unseat her Republican colleagues Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the two Diaz-Balart brothers.

Now why would a democrat support the re-election of 3 republicans? Israel. Because Ros-Lehtinen and the Diaz-Balarts support Wasserman-Schultz and her Israel initiatives.

America needs congressmen that support America, not Cuba-libre bullshit and more settlements in the West Bank.

This ad is getting nice exposure around the netroots, and the netroots have been helpful to Joe Garcia's campaign. He can always use your donations, so please check out joegarcia08.com.

True, but I think Garcia's is an improvement. Gets the flag-in-O, rising-sun matchup very nicely.

Nice use of the title track from my all time favorite movie about fictional musicians.

I love it!!!! We are so tired of the right-wing cubans who do not represent the people of Florida. We need CHANGE!! The Cuban bang can just leave us along and start their on "revolution" in Cuba if they want!!! I don't care about Cuba, I care about how to bring food to my table and pay the bills.
