Yesterday I speculated that Michael O'Hanlon was trying to wheedle his way into John McCain's good graces because he's burned his bridges with leading Democrats. That still might be true as far as the Presidential candidates go -- he's criticized Clinton and Obama by name, repeatedly, and Obama especially harshly -- but since writing that I've got some second-hand reports that he's still briefing congressional Democrats and the like. If that's true, I really do wish people would look elsewhere for their expert advice.

What dark magic does this wizard possess? How has he managed to build himself into such a prominent figure with such an unimpressive record of knowledge and foresight? Is it just a genius for self-promotion?
I'm sure O'Hanlon will do a Charlie-Rose in the near future where he introduces this move...
C'mon, George Soros, don't be stingy! Open up your big wallet and buy back the Democratic Party---they're pretty cheap these days and would LOVE a bidding war between you and AIPAC!
Maybe EBay should set up an anonymous auction-site for American elected officials. That would make the process much more transparent and efficient...

Really. What happened to the days when self-professed experts needed, ya' know, EXPERTISE!
Eat seems that there are so many people in politics now who are basically weather forecasters. They may be wrong over and over again, but they're experts.
Could you follow up? If that is true I would love to know who these boneheaded Democrats are.
Name some names! Who is going to O'Hanlon for advice?
Hillary Clinton, paragon of Democratic political wonkery, wants to "obliterate" Iran with "massive retaliation" and to create a "nuclear umbrella" over the Middle East.
From whom do you think she is getting such wise advice? And who's paying the bill for it?
justin, shut the fuck up already, this is not about Sen Clinton or Obama.
Merl, who the fuck do you think it's about? Matt says O'Hanlon is advising certain Democrats.
I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton has used him. Nor would I be surprised if Obama has, too. Both of them are hawks on Iran and they're getting crappy advice from somebody - or simply not bothering to get advice at all because they're in the tank with the AIPAC crowd.
