The Return

Via Mike Lux, a classic Obama video from back in 2003 when he was obscure:

I will say, however, that I'd sort of hoped I'd never hear the phrase "$87 billion" again.

Is he using the "Clinton thumb"?

One thing you can say is this man is consistant. I love that about him.. His message is the same.. I guess no poll testing like Clinton did with her five slogans during the course of this campaign.

He has even more of the Baptist preacher speaking style in this video, as in "he buh-leeeeeves". I like it!

I've always thought that despite being a great speaker, Obama's gestures are really awkward. They've sure gotten better since this was filmed, though.

stuff like that baptist preacher style makes me hopeful that america isn't totally effed: it's a reminder that he's gotten very, very far even w/ all the built-in handicaps that race brings to getting elected.

Who is that introducing him? Bobby Rush?

Danny Davis (IL-7)

Interestingly that on the stump he talks that coroprations have a "responsibility to the working man" - yet one of the first things he did in the Senate was vote to pass the GOP "tort reform" which makes it a lot harder to make corporations responsible via the courts.

So I wouldn't say that he's consistent at all

Too bad that guy isn't running for president. He worked fight in there about six times.
