It seems George W. Bush and John McCain, after having worked hard to scuttle Jim Webb's veterans' benefits bill, have now decided to try and take credit for it.

try and take credit for it.
Try to take credit for it ...
Matt:
It would be interesting. It would be pretty hard to call Webb an elitist when he can probably still kick most peoples ass with his own two fists, or pop a cap in their ass.
Not to mention that Webb's one of the few politicians trying to slow down the rush to the Iran war.
This is nothing new for Bush. In his 2000 election run, he claimed credit for the children's health program in Texas. That program passed over his veto. Unfortunately, I lived in Texas when he was governor and running for president. The liberals in Texas (yes, they really do exist) knew he was full of shit from the start. But not enough people listened to them. The good news is that Bush will never be my governor or president again.
Just like Bill Clinton tried to take credit for welfare reform.
Bush and Clinton are so much alike - I wonder if that is why each one's fans hate the other one so much.
I hope that Obama and Webb let em have it and force the MSM to play the old tapes next to the new ones over and over again. This is the type of situation where, in the past, the Republicans have been given a free pass by the MSM. We'll see.
I've heard it repeated over and over that OF COURSE McCain fully supports our troops because of what he went through as a POW. Sorry, but I don't believe it.
Just like Bill Clinton tried to take credit for welfare reform.
No. Not "just alike".
