What is great about the site... There is a real ad on it. Oh how I love web ad placement services. Good stuff.
It's funny, but not.
McCain's is so old and he makes so many errors that remarking on it is not merely the usual campaign snark. He's either getting a little senile or he's more than a little dumb.
Did you notice that the only adds on the site are for McCain's campaign?

Which kind of puts the whole question of "Is it true?" down for a nap, doesn't it?
Well, it would be funny, except the joke's been done a gazillion times. And all he's done it spent a week reposting five pages worth of the internet meme of the day.
Contrast with this website which has been around for 4 months and made the blogosphere circuit about 6 weeks ago.
Yes, the ads do seem to all be from McCain's campaign. The more you click on them, the more the McCain campaign is paying to host this site. Brilliant!
that should be "all he's done is spend *2* weeks reposting 5 pages worth of whatever is the McCain internet meme of the day."
When you get to be my age, what's the difference between a week or two? and what's English?
I seem to recall that the left was opposed to age based bias until this campaign. I'm sure that they'll revert to opposing it as soon as the election is over.
This isn't China - no one venerates the old here. Sure, there are some good ones but many are regarded as objectionable because of their smell, their crochets, their stuck-in-the-mud stupidity., and because their incompetent driving often turns murderous and they suffer no consequences for it. Their children enjoy shoving them into old age homes or killing them outright to get their inheritance. Nasty old pricks like McCain (unlike old ladies) are not seen as cute or endearing or kind or anything. Once you're over 40 - a significant portion of the country thinks you're disgusting. And, let's face it - most people are, and their superannuated status only exacerbates that. Ideology has nothing to do with this - we all hate the old. And, Obama has a strong advantage going into November because of it. He should exploit this carefully but exploit it nonetheless.
Where's the golf gear?
I'd never vote for that sleaze, John McCain, but not because he's old. For one thing, he's not that old. Secondly, I don't believe in discrimination on the basis of age.

Right, because everybody knows that the idea that there's a commensurate loss in capabilities and faculties, as well as general health, associated with age is a myth, right?
I mean, it's not like there's a specific medical field just for the problems associated with aging, right? I mean, how many 70-year-old football players and 120-year-old World of Warcraft players do there have to be before we can retire this bigoted and ageist myth, right?
The best part for me was that Google Ads was running an actual McCain ad on the page.
Sure, there are problems associated with aging, just as there are problems associated with only being 46 years old. Each age also has its pluses.
Liberals would be wrong to go down this path--wrong morally, and wrong politically.

John McCain says: you no take candle! Vote Obama for Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain.

Wouldn't want McCain to get BobDole'd, eh. Clinton really blew that election when everyone started complaining Dole was too old.
I'm not really sure age is that big of an issue. Senility, that's an issue. Mental illness is an issue. Age isn't.
I mean, is anyone here going to nod in agreement with campaigns against Ted Kennedy's propensity for brain tumors? Or agianst Robert Byrd's turkey neck?
The only funny thing about this is that the McCain campaign's ads are all over the page.
the obots had no problem with sexist attacks against hillary, so why should they have a problem with nasty attacks on mccain's age?
they've ran the ugliest, dirtiest campaign in american history - and that is ultimately what will bring the oborg down. most americans don't like ugly personal attacks - especially when the ones launching them are so justifiably vulnerable to similar treatment.
My dad is older than John McCain but even though he never fought in a war (too young for WWII and Korea was voluntary up here in Canada) he's smarter. I still wouldn't vote for him.
Stay classy, Yglesias!

Attached is a link to a column by fuckface Robert Novak with an analysis of how Senator McCain will back into winning the election. He claim is that, given the situation, McCain should be much further behind then he is.
