Help for Refugees

25 Jul 2008 08:22 am

At long last the US government is going to succumb to pressure mounted by Ted Kennedy and others to get more generous in our treatment of Iraqi refugees whose lives have been endangered by our adventure in their country.

According to my local paper (which is actually a pretty durn good regional paper) the number of visas is expanded '10 times'. The new number--5000/yr.

Americans should feel great shame about this aspect of our 'Operation Iraqi Oil--O.I.L'--as the grunts in hummers call it.

On a related issue, Mr. Yglesias favorite columnist accuses Maliki of endorsing Senator Osama.

SLC, that link goes to a story about Bob Novak's accident. There's nothing about Maliki or Obama in it.

Re Just Dropping By

Sorry about that. I linked to the article about the man shithead Novak hit in another thread. However, Mr. Yglesias has started another thread above where he links to the Krauthammer column. The correct link is below but the more recent thread is, perhaps, more apropos.

I'm baffled. I thought that The Surge was successful and that all Iraqis except the evil al Qaeda ones could sleep safe and sound. What is this about some of them having to become refugees?
