The Hotties

Every summer The Hill newspaper puts out its 50 most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill list, a DC event like no other because hating Hill types is one of the favorite passtimes of non-Hill Washingtonians. It's also time for the annual DCeiver commentary on the list which is highly recommended.

But not to steal the punchline here or anything, but one of the people on the list is Rep. Vito Fossella (R-NY) who'll be resigning from congress after the one-two punch of a DWI followed by the revelation that he had a secret second family. Amusingly, his dating status is listed as "Married, with children" which I suppose is accurate, but still.

Just like Edwards. (Allegedly)

Oh my gosh. Can you not post such a close up picture of the guy?? His hottie status is very questionable at this distance.

"hating Hill types is one of the favorite passtimes of non-Hill Washingtonians."

Oh trust me, hating Hill types that allow themselves to be humiliated by appearing in this kind of feature is a favorite pastime of most Hill-based Washingtonians as well.

Next year, I'm going to sign on to write copy for this article:

"Dressed in a pink skirt and a pink sleeveless top, Dollins said it's the persistent running of half-marathons and eating healthy that keeps her in shape.

"With her brown and blond streaked hair, her greenish hazel eyes and tanned complexion, the New Hampshire native is no stranger to getting attention from the opposite gender."

Nice.

Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?

Never gonna give you up!
Never gonna let you down!

.

Keith, perhaps you're right, but the presence of Mrs. Kucinich outweighs all of those interhcangeable Republican hotties.

Shouldn't his status be listed as "Married with children X2"?

Just askin'.

Keith asks: "Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?"

It's just you. I've never found retardation to be an attractive trait myself.

Patriarchy does have its aesthetic benefits. But try talking to one of these women! Ugh.

Kucinich wouldn't even know where to stick it. I've always found his wife to be overrated, frankly.

Just like Edwards.

Can't wait to see what happens with the Edwards story. That slimy poseur deserves a thorough public humiliation.

Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?

It's just you, dude. .

"Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?"

It's you.

Needs more MILF.

On a serious note unrelated to the current competition, the staffer here served on the advisory council to a foreign government described here (see "What links here" in the left sidebar) from 2003-2005. Maybe, since she works for a Republican, MattY could find the time to look into this.

"Can't wait to see what happens"

It's a real pisser when the MSM won't follow the Atwater playbook and report the controversy, eh?

I'm too married to be spending time mucking through the survey, but they do have Michelle Obama on there, don't they?

Of course, my tastes in women might be in the YMMV category ... e.g., I find Cynthia McKinney to be rather babelicious actually.

It's a real pisser when the MSM won't ... report the controversy, eh?

Wait.

waste of bandwidth

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Why isn't Megan McArdle on that list?

Uhhh, hello? Dana Perino? There was a pressroom clip of her on NPR the other day, and when she said "pork" I got a chub.

Oh wait... "The Hill."

Sorry. Not thinking. Too busy fantasizing about being beaten and humiliated by Dana...

Mmmmm.... Mrs. Kucinich.....

Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?

No.

But anyway, the hottest hottie is from Lebanon and not affiliated with any party - figures.

Also, don't Republicans have any black people or are they all ugly?

I vote for GFR!

Why isn't Megan McArdle on that list?

It's The Hill, not The Blood-Horse.

Blaming yesterday's earthquake on all the SmellyBrownFirthColumnAgentsOfAForeignGovernment jumping at once, 'TLB'?

muxmer:
That's seriously f-cked up!!

But not to steal the punchline here or anything, but one of the people on the list is Rep. Vito Fossella (R-NY)

I'd blow him, he's hot, so is Chris Austin.

I'm not sure the female hotness really tips in either party's favor, but the hottest Republican on the list said she will "always fondly remember the French seashore and Antibes," which means she's a conservative communist.

John Warner is on the list???

Vito: "Capital of France? Oh man that's a tough one."

I second the Lebanese journalist as hottest of the female "hotties."

God, how I hate the word "hottie."

Whoever thought that MattY - someone renowned for his intellectual honesty - would attract an anti-Irish sockpuppet?

JaneGalt and GFR are both rather attractive, albeit a bit too on the dolicephalic side.

Unfortunately, that list has a douchebag/hottie ratio of about 2:1.

I have to admit that Dana Perino is probably the best looking government type I've ever seen.

However, in comparison to THIS:

This is 2008. Everyone has a right to be fabulous.

NPR (via the politico I think) reported that 10 out of the 50 on this list nominated themselves. My first thought was "Don't those 10 have any friends?" and the second thought was "I'm surprised it wasn't 50 out of 50".

I'd like to know how many nominate themselves year over year, could be a good narcissistic measure.

Re: Is it me or are the Republican women WAY hotter (relatively speaking) than the Democrats?

I used to bartend at a restaurant on the Hill that had lots of Party parties, (fundraisers and stuff,) and there was a very noticeable difference. We always said that Republican parties brought out the eye candy, but Democratic parties were where you made the money - the Republicans were unbelievably cheap!!!

I'm surrounded by Republican women here in Indiana. It's one of the fattest states in the country. The other fattest areas are dominated by more red states.

If I want to see hot women I travel.

Conclusion? Hell no Republican women aren't hotter than Democratic women!

If you go in for Fox-News-Type-Bimbos then I suppose I could see your point. But lots of makeup and lots of hairspray makes a woman end up looking like a clown to me. Could be that acid I took in college peeled back the veil but I swear to you I think Republican women trend way overly made up and definitely on the ugly side of the scale relative to the babes who don't hate themselves (aka Democrats).

Keith at 2:13: It's you.

I am a very liberal guy who has a sick, twisted attraction to Republican women. It's a hate-fucking kind of thing. It's a bizarre blend of lust and loathing. Is it because they're physically better looking? I think in general they're richer and spend a lot more money dolling themselves up. It's also possible that (some) who are born with natural physical advantages will have more privilege and less sense of empathy toward the rest of humanity, hence more likely to go GOP.
