The Mueller Plan

John Mueller's ideas about subjecting counter-terrorism security measures to some kind of meaningful cost-benefit analysis seem very sensible to me. Very sensible and very unlikely to be adopted.

Having taken John Mueller's class here at Ohio State, I have to say that the university must be bathing him with cash, as he should probably be at a think tank. I agree with many of his foreign policy views, although he takes historical opinions that demonstrate why he's a social scientist and not an historian (such as opposing American military involvement in the Pacific during WW2) and also has other contrarian views for their own sake -- he loves Bjorn Lomborg and isn't crazy about Al Gore when it comes to global warming.
