Despite yesterday's news that the economy is back to growing (albeit slowly) it seems job losses are still mounting. With inflation also on the rise, my understanding is that basically we're screwed.

It's the possibilty of Obama winning that's tanking the economy.
Jefferson Davis klans: "It's the possibilty of Obama winning that's tanking the economy."
Wrap a Confederate flag around a chainsaw and fuck yourself with it, douchebag.
I plan on fleeing to Honduras within weeks.
MoeLarryAndJesus, you might want to take a refresher course in Sarcasm.
Despite yesterday's news that the economy is back to growing (albeit slowly) . . .
You might want to take that with a grain of salt. I'd wager that the last two quarters will be revised downward after the election. And while I'd say that while the second quarter will still show some post-revision growth, most of that will be due to the one-time stimulus checks winding their way through the economy. My guess is that after all data is revised, the third quarter 2008 also will show a drop.
Jefferson Davis again: "MoeLarryAndJesus, you might want to take a refresher course in Sarcasm."
How exactly am I supposed to distinguish between a real wingnut and a fake wingnut based on a one-liner?
We can't be screwed as long as John McCain is a patriotic maverick straight-shooter. If you think otherwise you will be deservedly, mercilessly mocked.
...my understanding is that basically we're screwed.
You may want to make that really, really screwed.
P.S. Can you change Remember personal info? to Remember but don't display personal info? so I won't have to be so resentful when I check the box each time? kthxbye
"Confederate Douchebag Chainsaw Massacre". Wasn't that a Roger Corman movie?
MoeLarryJesus,
How exactly am I supposed to distinguish between a real wingnut and a fake wingnut based on a one-liner?
The unbelievable stupidity ...
Oh, wait.
Nevermind.
You may want to make that really, really screwed.

We are well into deflation territory, tho; don't confuse the collapse of the dollar with regular inflation.

C'mon Jeff. Al has said much more ridiculous stuff than this in complete seriousness (I almost used "earnestness" by mistake).
Is the economy really growing - or are we just waiting for them to "revise" the figures downward in another month or so?
That's how it usually goes historically. Government claims X percent growth; revised figures show -X percent growth.
